Mobility Solutions recently donated a number of top of the range pressure-relieving mattresses to charity Marie Curie to aid their beneficiaries in long term care.
Therapeutic Support Systems
The Alpha Active 4 mattresses are therapeutic support systems for those who are bed bound and in need of extra comfort. They prevent pressure ulcers and reduce the risk of injuries for users and caregivers alike whilst delivering high quality care.
Head of Department Kieron MacFarlane said: “We are delighted to be able to donate these 10 mattresses – which have a retail price of around £1,000 each – to such a wonderful charity. We know that Marie Curie will be able to put them to good use and hope that they will bring comfort to the people they support at their Glasgow hospice.”
“It is so fantastic to have support from a business this local to the hospice.”
Marie Curie is a well established charity with over 65 years’ experience providing care and support for people living with terminal illness. They offer vital care through a range of services including helplines, hospices and nurses.
Fantastic to Have Support
We invited staff from the charity’s Glasgow hospice to our Glasgow superstore to be presented with the mattresses.
Susan Harrison, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie, said: “Thank you to everyone at Mobility Solutions for the wonderful donation of the Alpha Active 4 mattresses to the Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow. It is so fantastic to have support from a business this local to the hospice. We had a lovely morning with the staff at Mobility Solutions and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity.”
The mattresses will be utilised in their Glasgow hospice, helping make residents more comfortable.
