High street giant Marks & Spencer is launching a range of clothing for disabled children.
The retailer will be adding the items to its range in response to a customer’s request for certain items to be made for older children.
Listening To Their Customers
Mother Zoe Hardcastle was finding it difficult to find clothing to cater for her three-year-old disabled son Caleb, who needs to wear a nappy and use a feeding tube daily. After struggling to find anything suitable, Zoe’s mother-in-law Rita Kutt wrote to Marks & Spencer asking for them to consider a new line of clothing that would cater for children with similar conditions to Caleb.
In response, the company obliged without hesitation and created the range, which features sizes up to seven to eight years. It includes larger versions of bodysuits, sleep suits and vests that already exist and prices are very reasonable at £3 for a sleeveless bodysuit and £7 for a sleepsuit.
“We always listen carefully to our customers and our kidswear team worked in close consultation with Ms Kutt and other families on adapting some of our kidswear products to meet their needs.”
Selling Out Fast
It’s already proving to be popular with families, as each time stock appears on the Marks & Spencer website it quickly sells out. M&S says more items will appear gradually over the coming weeks.
An M&S spokesperson said: “We always listen carefully to our customers and our kidswear team worked in close consultation with Ms Kutt and other families on adapting some of our kidswear products to meet their needs.
“The range currently comprises a small number of products that will be available online in the next few weeks – as with all new ranges, we will closely monitor customer interest and listen carefully to customer feedback on how it should develop in the future.”
