John Lambie from Whitburn is Mobility Solutions’ first Motability customer since becoming an approved dealer through the Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Scheme.
John decided it was about time to replace the scooter he had used for years and when searching on the internet he came across Mobility Solutions. John says: “I looked at the Mobility Solutions website and was instantly impressed, so my wife Rena and I travelled to the Glasgow showroom in search of a new scooter.“
John continues: “I did my homework and spent time researching various mobility scooters. All three of the models I looked at were on display in the showroom, so I got a chance to try them all out.”
John was looking for a comfortable and roomy scooter with a battery that would last on long journeys and days out. John comments: “I love to get out and about and I take the scooter with me everywhere I go so comfort was a huge factor for me.
“The quality of the captain seat is fantastic and I don’t need to charge the scooter too often, so it’s definitely the perfect choice for me.”
First on Motability
It’s the first time that John has used Motability and he can’t praise the Scheme highly enough. John enthuses: “I’d recommend Motability to anyone. Every time I contact them they’ve been very helpful, nothing is ever a problem.”
With his new scooter, John says he enjoys making regular trips to the shops: “The scooter has fantastic manoeuvrability because of the dual wheels so taking it shopping is great.”
Exploring the great outdoors with his wife is also easier now according to John. He says: “Rena also has a mobility scooter so we take both of them with us whenever we go out. We enjoy going a run down the promenade together or spending the day at the shopping centre and then going for a meal.”
The couple also own a touring caravan which they love to take to Musselburgh for long weekends. John comments: “People at the caravan park say we’re marvellous when they see us both turning up with our scooters.”
“Having a scooter has really made a difference to me as I love to get out and about and without one I wouldn’t have the same freedom.”
First Class Service
John was really impressed with the service he received when purchasing his new scooter from Mobility Solutions. “As soon as I arrived I felt really welcome” he says, “One of the scooters I wanted to look at was near the entrance so the manager handed me the keys so I could drive into the shop.
“The staff were great and when I returned to collect the scooter, they had already fitted a bracket so it could be used with my existing car hoist to easily get it in and out of the car.”
John added: “I’m absolutely thrilled with how far I can go on my new scooter and the help I received all the way through the process has been without a doubt, first class.”
