When making your own costume that includes your wheelchair the most essential part is ensuring movement isn’t hindered and your wheelchair is still accessible. Go for materials that are lightweight and easy to attach.
A great choice of materials are paper, cardboard or foam boards. They can be easily cut, drawn on and affixed to the wheelchair to create a scene that adds to your costume. Let your imagination run wild!
To attach your design you can use products such as velcro or zip ties, this ensures they are held on securely without causing any damage to your wheelchair. Of course once secured do a trial run to test your mobility!
